The Thacher School | Website Design and Development
Designed and developed the information architecture and graphical user interface (GUI) for The Thacher School. The information architecture process was extremely thorough.
The key to the designs success was interviewing and listening to the various departments within the school who serve different constituencies. Every departments individual content needs are the most important to them and all want top billing on the home page.
It was critical for the websites success to set up the content to balance the needs of the internal departments and to address the needs of visitors being introduced to the school for the first time.
DBA | Website Design and Development
The principals of DBA came to us with an idea of what they wanted in their website. We worked with them to develop the visual design to a level that complimented the quality of the architecture.
Using a combination of layout and color palette we were able to create distinctions between the projects within the portfolio. Combining that with a custom programmed slideshow to introduce passive activity and randomness was key.
This website is entirely hand coded HTML and CSS.
InkOutLoud | Visual Brand Development, Website Design and Software Development
In collaboration with BindInc we designed and developed an entire software platform. The platform provided web publishers, mainly blogs using RSS feeds, the ability to have their content professionally read and recorded, digitized and delivered to subscribers.
Clients could embed and iframe to include the service directly from our servers. One key feature of the service was the technology “Modcast” that allowed customized and personalized podcast delivery to your iPod.
We designed the visual brand, corporate style guide, advertising, and all graphics for the website. We collaborated on the information architecture, strategy and copywriting for the website as well.

Gerry Huth Ph.D | Website Design and Development
Gerry was one of our first clients. Gerry, an early adopter, saw the potential of using a blog to disseminate his ideas long before others within his field of study. The primary goal of Gerry’s website is to communicate his science, ideas, and theories to those working in similar fields of study. Through the power of blogging he has been able to engage others from around the world on the topic of how the eye sees color.
The initial challenge with Gerry’s site was one of information architecture. How best to display his large amount of information in a digestible format.
Woodalls | Flash Website Design and Development
We were brought in by PULL Inc. to provide Flash design and development services on this project. Our role on this targeted micro-site was that of designer, animator, and developer. We developed all animation and transition sequences within the self-contained movie.
The goal of this micro-site is to communicate and inform prospective advertisers about the value of taking part in Woodalls’ premier “bible” to the RV lifestyle. It is a seasonal micro-site as pricing and parameters change from one year to the next.

Monica Ros | Website Design and Development
When we first visited Monica Ros’ website it was still working with a very dated information architecture and design. A new visual design and information architecture was in order. Along with the redesign we also setup the website to run on WordPress. The switch in design and running the website on WordPress has allowed easier access and the staff now updates the website themselves.
Berchman continues to provide consultation and support to Monica Ros as needed. This summer Berchman will redesign the website to better incorporate social media tools for parents and prospective families.
QuarterMile Films | Website Design and Development
QuarterMile Films wanted to take a slightly different approach to the design of their website. Using the visual element of tire tracks as a vertical anchor the website makes the main content unexpectedly “flush-right.” This combined with a strong color palette creates a strong impression.
We included the use of Flash video at their request. The video clips are locally created and self -hosted (think non-YouTube).
The entire website was hand coded in HTML and CSS.
Weldscape | Branding, E-commerce Design and Development
We worked with the client do develop the visual branding as well as the website design and development for this new startup. Weldscape wanted a clean and simple approach to displaying their products and a simple to use e-commerce solution. We implemented ZenCart as the e-commerce solution for its robustness and history.
